About the position

American Battery Solutions has a full-time opening for a Human Resource Generalist (HRG) in Springboro, Ohio. The HRG position serves as the liaison supporting all Human Resources functions within American Battery Solutions (ABS) and must be experienced in managing the full employment life cycle. The HRG is a key player in managing the recruiting process and participates in implementing HR policies, procedures, programs, and day-to-day administration of HR processes. This role requires a proactive approach to recruitment, employee relations, and compliance with federal and state regulations. The HRG will lead recruitment efforts for the site, including screenings, scheduling interviews, attending career fairs, and working with local workforce agencies. They will manage position requisitions for online postings and attract applicants through various means, including LinkedIn, networking, job boards, and career fairs. The HRG will develop and maintain candidate pipelines in advance of hiring needs and collaborate with departmental managers to understand the skills and competencies required for job openings. Additionally, the HRG will support pre-placement hiring activities, assist with new hire orientation, and educate employees on HR policies and benefits. The HRG will also provide support and guidance when sensitive questions and issues arise, administer investigations, and execute performance improvement processes. They will work closely with management and employees to positively influence the culture, improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention. The role includes maintaining employment records, managing the employee off-boarding process, and assisting with planning employee events. The HRG will monitor time and attendance in ADP and adhere to all company policies and procedures, ensuring predictable and reliable attendance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead recruitment efforts for the site including screenings, scheduling interviews, attending career fairs, and working with local workforce agencies.
  • Manage position requisitions for online postings.
  • Attract applicants through various means including LinkedIn, networking, job boards, career fairs, and state employment agencies.
  • Develop and maintain candidate pipelines in advance of hiring needs.
  • Collaborate with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for job openings.
  • Help develop and maintain position descriptions.
  • Support pre-placement hiring activities including processing background checks and ADP onboarding.
  • Assist with new hire orientation and onboarding documentation.
  • Educate newly hired and current employees on HR policies, internal procedures, benefits, payroll, and other employment-related matters.
  • Provide support and guidance when sensitive questions and issues arise; administer and execute investigations, performance improvement processes, and disciplinary actions.
  • Work closely with management and employees to positively influence the culture, improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Maintain employment records and prepare communications.
  • Manage employee off-boarding process including internal notifications, employee transition support, and conducting exit interviews.
  • Assist with planning and execution of employee events.
  • Participate and engage in the Wellness Committee.
  • Monitor time and attendance in ADP.
  • Adhere to federal and state regulations and all company policies, processes, and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of progressive professional HR experience.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of recruitment experience.
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification (preferred).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proficient in ADP preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience in technical or manufacturing industry (preferred).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
