About the position

Sauer Southeast, LLC, located in Jacksonville, Florida, is seeking to hire a full-time Human Resource (HR) Generalist to support the growth of our construction operations in the Southeast. This role is integral to the day-to-day operations of our human resources processes and functions. The HR Generalist will work closely with our corporate HR department, which is led by an external Human Resources consultant, and will focus specifically on our personnel in the Southeast region. We are looking for a candidate with a positive, can-do attitude who is flexible and capable of performing a variety of HR-related tasks. The HR Generalist will be responsible for developing collaborative working relationships with all division managers and leaders to achieve staffing goals while effectively representing Sauer to external candidates and our existing team members. This position will assist with the daily workflow of the HR department, which includes coordinating onboarding processes, conducting background checks and drug screens, facilitating orientation, and inputting new hire data into Sauer's HRIS. Additionally, the HR Generalist will provide guidance to division managers regarding compliance with federal regulations and other obligations, such as Davis-Bacon prevailing wages, payroll requirements, and affirmative action/EEO guidelines. Responsibilities

  • Provide support for the day-to-day operations of human resources processes and functions.
  • Integrate efforts within the corporate HR department led by an outside Human Resources consultant.
  • Focus on personnel in the Southeast region.
  • Develop collaborative working relationships with division managers and leaders to accomplish staffing goals.
  • Represent Sauer to external candidates and existing team members.
  • Assist with daily workflow of the HR department, including onboarding, background checks, drug screens, and orientation.
  • Input new hire data into Sauer's HRIS.
  • Provide input and guidance to division managers on compliance with federal regulations and obligations.

Requirements

  • Must understand verbal and written instructions.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Working understanding of human resource principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software; proficiency in HRIS software and job posting websites is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field and/or equivalent experience.
  • Completion of an HR Certification program is preferred.
  • At least 4 years of related experience required.
