The Human Resource Generalist is responsible for administering programs related to all phases of human resources activity. This role is crucial in maintaining the legal compliance of HR functions and ensuring that the company adheres to government reporting regulations. The Human Resource Generalist will advise front line supervisors and managers on the appropriate resolution of employee relations issues, fostering a positive work environment and promoting the company's goals. In this position, the Human Resource Generalist will plan and conduct new employee orientations, which are essential for instilling a positive attitude towards the company and ensuring a smooth transition into operations. The role also involves facilitating and documenting employee engagement meetings, which are vital for maintaining open lines of communication between employees and management. The Generalist will partner with HR leadership to develop resolution plans for critical or recurring issues, ensuring that employee concerns are addressed promptly and effectively. Additionally, the Human Resource Generalist will lead training sessions for supervisors and management on HR-related topics, enhancing their understanding of policies and procedures. Responding to employee inquiries of moderate complexity regarding policies, procedures, and programs is also a key responsibility. The Generalist will manage non-exempt recruiting activities and assist in exempt recruiting through first-level supervisory roles, including organizing and executing job fairs. The role will also involve conducting employee investigations and recommending appropriate resolutions, managing the leave of absence process, answering unemployment claims, and preparing for and attending unemployment hearings. Monitoring temporary agency performance and compliance, as well as supervising a non-exempt Human Resources Coordinator, may also be part of the responsibilities.
