About the position

The Human Resource Generalist at KeHE Distributors is responsible for administering and providing guidance on company policies and programs related to employee relations, benefits, compensation, and compliance with labor laws. This role is essential in fostering a people-first culture and ensuring effective HR practices within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Source, screen, and interview candidates for open positions.
• Collaborate with management on HR practices, policies, and procedures.
• Administer the hiring process, including compliance and new hire paperwork.
• Manage and administer company benefits programs, including 401(k) and medical/dental insurance.
• Handle workers compensation claims and collaborate with relevant parties.
• Lead safety awareness programs and safety committee meetings.
• Manage FMLA and other leaves of absence.
• Address employee relations issues in partnership with management.
• Conduct employee disciplinary investigations according to company policies.
• Oversee the Performance Evaluation and merit processes.
• Drive company culture throughout the facility.
• Facilitate training, including new hire orientation.
• Represent the company in unemployment claims and hearings.
• Maintain personnel records and ensure HIPAA compliance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in HR or related field.
• Knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
• Proficient in HRIS and Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with employee stock ownership plans (ESOP).
• Certification in HR (e.g., PHR, SPHR).
• Experience in a distribution or logistics environment.
