About the position

The Human Resources Generalist at Family Express Corporation plays a crucial role in managing HR-related duties across all levels of the organization. This position is designed to support the company's mission of maintaining a strong culture and developing the Family Express 'Living Brand'. The HR Generalist will act as a liaison between the HR department and various departments, ensuring that all personnel policies and procedures are adhered to while fostering a positive work environment. This role requires a commitment to being on call 24/7 to assist stores and personnel as needed, reflecting the company's dedication to employee support and operational excellence. In this position, the HR Generalist will monitor associate morale and company culture, providing guidance on personnel policies and procedures to both associates and management. They will be responsible for developing and maintaining performance management processes, ensuring compliance with mandatory training and continuing education requirements. The HR Generalist will also assist in recruitment, hiring, and onboarding processes, maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Additionally, the HR Generalist will perform routine tasks necessary for administering HR programs, including compensation, benefits, leave management, and handling disciplinary matters. They will stay informed about trends and best practices in HR and employment law, managing risks within the company and addressing employment-related inquiries from applicants and employees. This role is essential for supporting the overall HR function and ensuring that Family Express remains a great place to work.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as an HR Liaison to assigned territories and/or departments
  • Monitor associate morale and company culture
  • Provide personnel policy and procedure guidance to associates and management
  • Develop and maintain performance management processes
  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments
  • Assists in the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding processes throughout the organization
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute Human Resource programs including compensation, benefits, and leave
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, associates, and supervisors
  • Assist with all functions of payroll processing

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous retail experience
  • 2-4-year college degree in Human Resources or related field
