About the position

We seek a motivated and experienced HR Generalist to join our team and help us achieve our business and human resource goals. As an HR Generalist, you will play a vital role in supporting our HR department and ensuring the smooth functioning of various HR processes. You will collaborate with management to implement HR policies, procedures, and best practices and support employees regarding HR-related issues and concerns. The HR Generalist will have a comprehensive understanding of HR functions, exceptional interpersonal skills, and a commitment to fostering a positive work culture. The HR Generalist will refine and manage the employee recruitment, interview, and hiring process, including creating job descriptions, researching compensation, submitting job postings, performing candidate screenings, participating in interviews, and extending formal offers for employment. Additionally, you will research, develop, and implement a formalized employee orientation, training and onboarding process, ensuring a seamless integration into the company. You will also be responsible for developing and implementing an employee retention program, acting as a primary point of contact for employment-related inquiries and concerns, and promoting a positive and inclusive work environment. The role will involve maintaining and building relationships with all team members, championing company culture, and contributing to a positive employee experience. You will administer and enhance employee benefits programs, assist in salary benchmarking, compensation analysis, and the annual performance review process. Staying up to date with federal and state employment laws and regulations to ensure compliance is crucial, as is maintaining accurate HR records and databases. You will generate HR and Payroll reports and analytics to support decision-making and identify trends, manage bi-monthly payroll processing, and coordinate internal training and development programs for current employees. This position may lead to a role as the HR Manager as the company grows and scales.

Responsibilities

  • Refine and manage the employee recruitment, interview, and hiring process, including creating job descriptions and performing candidate screenings.
  • Research, develop, and implement a formalized employee orientation, training, and onboarding process.
  • Research, develop, and implement an employee retention program.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for employment-related inquiries and concerns, providing guidance and resolutions when necessary.
  • Participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive work environment, mediating and resolving employee conflicts as needed.
  • Maintain and build relationships with all team members.
  • Champion company culture and contribute to a positive employee experience.
  • Administer and enhance employee benefits programs, such as health insurance and retirement plans.
  • Assist in salary benchmarking, compensation analysis, and the annual performance review process.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce HR policies, procedures, and handbooks.
  • Stay up to date with federal and state employment laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Maintain accurate HR records and databases, ensuring data privacy and security.
  • Generate HR and Payroll reports and analytics to support decision-making and identify trends.
  • Identify training needs within the organization and coordinate internal training and development programs for current employees.
  • Manage bi-monthly payroll processing and payroll-related tasks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (HR certification preferred).
  • Proven experience as an HR Generalist or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of HR laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
