About the position

Thrive Foods, a rapidly growing freeze-dried manufacturing company, is seeking a Human Resource Manager for its Oak Creek, Wisconsin facility. This position is crucial as it involves leading and directing the routine functions of the Human Resources (HR) department. The HR Manager will report directly to the Director of Employee Relations and will be responsible for a variety of HR functions including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, managing leave of absence, and enforcing company policies and practices. The role requires a strategic partnership with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization's human resource and talent strategy, particularly in relation to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning. In addition to managing the talent acquisition process, which includes recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants, the HR Manager will collaborate with departmental managers to understand the skills and competencies required for openings. The position also involves providing support and guidance to the HR Assistant, management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise. This may include administering and executing routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and managing terminations. The HR Manager will oversee employee relations activities and maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, as well as recommended best practices. This includes reviewing policies and practices to ensure compliance and staying informed about trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and innovative technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law. The role may also involve creating programs and initiatives in partnership with the Corporate Learning and Development Manager to provide internal development opportunities for employees. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct the routine functions of the Human Resources department.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • A minimum of five years of human resource management experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written communication forums.
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate when appropriate.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficiency with or ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and talent management systems.
  • Consistent attendance with the ability to work on-site.
