About the position

The Human Resource Representative at Hobby Lobby is an entry-level position that supports HR Specialists in addressing and resolving various HR issues. This role involves ensuring compliance with employment laws and company policies, advising managers on personnel matters, and responding to employee inquiries. The representative will also assist with unemployment claims and employment verifications, contributing to a positive workplace environment.

Responsibilities

• Support HR Specialists in addressing and resolving HR issues.
• Advise managers on personnel issues in compliance with laws and company policies.
• Respond to unemployment claims and assist with documentation for hearings.
• Field phone calls and emails from employees, analyzing their needs and responding or referring to HR Specialists.
• Handle employment verifications and file requests.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Basic knowledge of state and federal employment laws including Title VII, ADA, FMLA, FLSA, and workers compensation.
• Critical thinking and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Positive attitude and excellent interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; SAP experience is a plus.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
