About the position

In this position, you will collaborate closely with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and deliver on a comprehensive recruiting plan. Your efforts will ensure a positive candidate experience in partnership with our Talent Acquisition team, fostering a positive work environment and promoting employee engagement. You will also be responsible for addressing employee concerns and conducting investigations when necessary, managing local HR processes, and maintaining accurate employee records. Additionally, you will coordinate onboarding and orientation for new hires, ensuring that they are well-integrated into the company culture. As an HR Specialist, you will partner with leadership, HR, and Labor to ensure compliance with the collective bargaining agreement, which is crucial in a union environment. This role requires you to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment, demonstrating agility and the ability to work well with cross-functional teams. You will be committed to providing exceptional service to employees and leaders, communicating effectively in an open and timely manner. It is essential to administer HR policies fairly and consistently while handling all matters confidentially and with great tact and professionalism. Balancing competing priorities with a sense of urgency will be a key aspect of your daily responsibilities. This is a three-shift manufacturing plant (5 days per week), and the HR Specialist must be flexible to work varying hours from time to time to support the needs of the operation. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and deliver on recruiting plan.
  • Ensure a positive candidate experience in partnership with our Talent Acquisition team.
  • Foster a positive work environment and promote employee engagement.
  • Address employee concerns and conduct investigations when necessary.
  • Own and manage local HR processes and maintain accurate employee records.
  • Coordinate onboarding and orientation for new hires.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field and 1 year of experience in HR generalist role is preferred.
  • Candidates with an Associate's degree in a related field and 3 years of experience may be considered.
  • Experience working in a union environment preferred.
