About the position

The HR Specialist at Baker McKenzie will be instrumental in ensuring the efficient operation of HR functions at the Tampa Center. This role encompasses a variety of responsibilities including onboarding, employee relations, compliance, and continuous improvement of HR processes, all while providing exceptional client service and support to employees and management.

Responsibilities

• Manage the onboarding and offboarding processes including offer letters, background checks, and payroll setup.
• Assist with the recruitment process by interviewing candidates and preparing offer letters.
• Provide ad hoc employee relations support for HR Business Partners.
• Lead employee appreciation initiatives and events.
• Conduct bi-weekly audits to ensure timekeeping compliance and proper payroll administration.
• Manage the administration of leaves of absence and accommodation requests in partnership with external vendors.
• Participate in project work and provide HR expertise and best practices.
• Update and maintain HR systems as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Experience in human resources including employee relations, performance management, and recruiting.
• Preferred certifications: PHR or SPHR.
• Working knowledge of HRIS systems, preferably SuccessFactors.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and establish trust with employees and managers.
• Knowledge of FMLA, short-term/long-term disability, and worker's compensation processes.

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
