About The Position

The Human Resource Specialist at Forney ISD is responsible for managing hiring processes for assigned employee groups and supporting various HR functions, including records management, background checks, and job postings. This role requires effective communication and organizational skills to assist in maintaining employee records and facilitating new employee intake.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Proficient keyboarding, word processing, and file maintenance skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to use personal computer, scanner, and software to maintain spreadsheets and databases, documents, and digital images.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations.
  • Clerical and/or file maintenance experience preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as hiring case manager for assigned employee groups.
  • Assist with records management, background checks, and job postings.
  • Perform data entry and review.
  • Answer and process incoming phone calls, providing backup for the district receptionist.
  • Assist with maintenance of employee records.
  • Process new employee records and assist with the intake of new employees.
  • Prepare correspondence, forms, records, documents, and reports using a personal computer.
  • Compile pertinent data for various federal, state, and local reports.
  • Perform filing, copying, mailing, data processing, scanning, and faxing as needed.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area.
  • Participate in staff development training programs to improve job performance.
  • Participate in meetings and special events as assigned.
  • Assist with recruiting, leave management, and other department functions as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
