About the position

The Human Resource Specialist at Caliola plays a crucial role in overseeing organizational and HR processes to ensure adherence to the company's core values. This position involves managing the full-cycle recruitment process, collaborating with leadership to align hiring strategies with business objectives, and maintaining compliance with employment laws. The HR Specialist will also handle employee relations, benefits administration, and training needs, contributing to a high-performance culture within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Executive Team in creating an employee-oriented, high-performance culture.
  • Ensure compliance of all human resource programs, practices, and policies with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Assist in developing, drafting, and implementing new HR processes and analysis.
  • Develop human resource plans and strategies to meet organizational requirements.
  • Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Coordinate employee relations activities and facilitate resolution of employment concerns.
  • Administer labor agreements and review disciplinary cases, making recommendations as needed.
  • Investigate and settle grievances under established procedures.
  • Prepare briefs for arbitration cases and conduct presentations at hearings.
  • Investigate complaints from federal, state, and local agencies.
  • Conduct instructional sessions for supervisory personnel on contract interpretation and compliance with company policies.
  • Perform audits and compile reports on labor matters as needed.
  • Monitor adherence to labor agreements and prepare required governmental reports related to labor relations.
  • Train managers and employees on labor relations topics.
  • Assist with the administration of employee benefits and maintain contact with insurance carriers and vendors.
  • Market the benefits of training and development for employees.
  • Schedule and manage interviews, ensuring a positive candidate experience.
  • Collaborate with leadership to understand staffing needs and role requirements.
  • Draft job offers and manage the offer process from creation to acceptance.
  • Ensure a smooth onboarding process for new hires.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in Human Resources, with at least 1 year in Recruiting.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong analytic and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle challenging situations gracefully.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance issued by the US Government.

Nice-to-haves

  • Human Resource Certificate such as SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM®-CP) or Professional in Human Resources (PHR).
  • Master's degree.
  • Experience with Unanet and iSolved (Go ConPay).
  • Tech-savvy with defense contractor experience.
