About the position

The Human Resource Specialist at Pate Rehabilitation plays a crucial role in ensuring the organization has the right talent aligned with its priorities. This position focuses on various HR functions including recruitment, employee onboarding, compliance with employment laws, and maintaining personnel documentation. The specialist will support both employees and management in HR-related inquiries and processes, contributing to a positive workplace environment.

Responsibilities

  • Providing administrative support in the areas of employee recruitment, hiring, retention, and evaluation.
  • Processing, verifying, and maintaining documentation relating to personnel activities such as staffing, recruitment, training, grievances, performance evaluations, and classifications.
  • Processing and reviewing employment applications in the Applicant Tracking System to evaluate qualifications or eligibility of applicants.
  • Examining employee files to answer inquiries and provide information for personnel actions.
  • Requesting information from law enforcement officials, previous employers, and other references to determine applicants' employment acceptability.
  • Responding to employee, manager, and Human Resource team requests and escalating issues as appropriate.
  • Providing support for employee onboarding as well as employee exit meetings.
  • Assisting with data management and file maintenance, including day-to-day data entry and employee data maintenance in the Human Resource Information System.
  • Creating and processing Personnel Action Forms for assigned service site.
  • Providing onboarding administrative support and arranging for in-house and external training activities.
  • Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 2+ years in a Human Resource or Recruiting role.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Demonstrated sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Focus on meeting and exceeding client expectations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field.
  • SHRM-CP or HRCI-PHR certification.
