About the position

The Human Resource Specialist at Ray-Carroll County Grain Growers, Inc. plays a crucial role in supporting the operations of the human resource department. This position is designed for individuals who are energetic, possess a strong work ethic, and are committed to providing excellent service to our farmer customers. The primary purpose of this role is to assist the Director of People in various HR tasks, ensuring that the department runs smoothly and efficiently. The specialist will be responsible for data collection and entry related to employee employment, personnel, and training records, which are vital for maintaining accurate and up-to-date employee information. In addition to data management, the Human Resource Specialist will assist in the recruitment process, which includes attending job fairs, visiting college campuses, contacting references, and conducting interviews. The role also encompasses the onboarding of new employees, ensuring they are enrolled in all benefits and that all necessary paperwork is completed. The specialist will process payroll, ensuring that all required taxes, retirement contributions, and other payroll-related expenses are accurately processed and paid. This includes compiling, reconciling, and issuing internal and external payroll reports as needed. The specialist will also assist the Director of People and managers with various administrative tasks, including managing absences, terminations, performance reports, disciplinary actions, and grievances. Compliance with all company, state, and federal regulations is essential, particularly regarding drug testing and safety protocols. The role requires a proactive approach to building morale and group commitments to achieve organizational goals, as well as the ability to project a positive attitude to both customers and employees at all times. Other duties may be assigned by the supervisor as needed, making this a dynamic and engaging position within the company.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in Human Resource tasks and operations.
  • Responsible for data collection and entry of employee employment, personnel, and training records.
  • Assist in recruiting, placing, and retaining employees.
  • Manage all employee orientation and onboarding processes.
  • Process payroll and ensure all related expenses are processed and paid.
  • Compile, reconcile, and issue internal and external payroll reports as needed.
  • Assist in administrative tasks such as absences, terminations, performance reports, disciplinary actions, and grievances.
  • Attend job fairs and college campus visits to assist in recruitment.
  • Conduct interviews and set up onboarding plans for new hires.
  • Ensure compliance with all company, state, and federal rules and regulations regarding employment and safety.
