About the position

The Human Resource Specialist III position is a senior-level role focused on the review, analysis, and establishment of Agency Standard Position Descriptions (ASPD) and unique position descriptions within a fully remote environment. The role requires extensive experience in Federal HR Position Classification and involves conducting desk audits, evaluating requests, and ensuring compliance with Office of Personnel Management (OPM) standards.

Responsibilities

  • Review requests for new Agency Standard Position Descriptions and assign managers and servicing Human Resources offices across the Agency.
  • Evaluate requests for establishing unique position descriptions.
  • Establish Agency Standard Position Descriptions (ASPD) and unique position descriptions.
  • Conduct the official assignment of pay plans, series, and grade, as required by OPM laws, regulations, and classification standards.
  • Perform comprehensive reviews of draft position descriptions.
  • Conduct desk audits including interviews, comprehensive analysis, and preparation of evaluations utilizing OPM Classification Standard and NASA guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of related experience
  • Senior-level experience in the review and analysis of types, grades, and numbers of positions in comparison with functions, other positions, and workload of the organization.
  • Minimum of 8 years of Federal HR Position Classification experience.
  • Experience in the official assignment of pay plans, series, and grade, as required by Federal statute.
  • Experience with establishing Agency Standard Position Descriptions (ASPD), unique position descriptions, position desk audits, classification consistency reviews.
  • Experience and knowledge of PC-based computers and software using Microsoft Office Suite including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of ServiceNow preferred.
  • Knowledge of Office of Personnel Management (OPM) laws, regulations, and classification standards.
  • Skilled in using technical systems that support Federal HR services preferred.
  • Proficient working in a dynamic, collaborative environment that may be remote and onsite depending on Government Customer needs.
  • Ability to work successfully on a team and independently, as well as multitask.
  • Strong written and oral communications skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of ServiceNow preferred.
  • Skilled in using technical systems that support Federal HR services preferred.
