About the position

The Human Resources Specialist - OARP is responsible for providing administrative support for the Ohio Alliance of Recovery Providers program. This role involves tracking apprentices' hours, ensuring compliance with apprenticeship standards, maintaining records, and facilitating the hiring process for apprentices. The position requires strong organizational and interpersonal skills, as well as proficiency in Microsoft applications.

Responsibilities

  • Tracks hours worked by all apprentices.
  • Ensures apprentices receive step 2 increases after 1550 hours.
  • Maintains a numeric ratio of journey-persons to apprentices for proper supervision and safety.
  • Sends reminders to journey-persons for timely evaluations.
  • Reports and logs cancelled apprenticeships immediately.
  • Makes recommendations to the OSAC upon apprentice's successful completion.
  • Keeps thorough records of each apprentice's participation and evaluations.
  • Maintains records for every apprentice entering the program in Ohio.
  • Reports to the OSAC on apprentice enrollment and status changes.
  • Pre-screens apprentices via scheduled phone interviews and forwards qualified candidates to hiring managers.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Formal education in Human Resources preferred.
  • Two (2) years administrative and/or secretarial training required.
  • Exceptional organizational skills required.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and database experience required.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills required.
  • Prior experience working in a human resources department strongly desired.
  • Must have prior experience working in an office setting.
  • Valid Ohio Driver's license and reliable transportation required.
