About the position

The Human Resource Specialist position is responsible for delivering customized HR service solutions that enhance performance management and positively impact client businesses. This role involves collaborating with client management to build relationships and provide guidance as a trusted HR Business Partner, ensuring high customer satisfaction and retention.

Responsibilities

  • Manages a book of business by contributing to clients' overall success and growth while maintaining high customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Advises client management on employee relations, legislation interpretation, benefits, wage and hour issues, and employee performance management.
  • Collaborates with client management on alignment of HR business strategy and goals.
  • Consults on HR-related issues, suggests new HR strategies, and provides HR guidance.
  • Evaluates and anticipates HR-related needs and strategizes with client management accordingly.
  • Analyzes trends to develop solutions, programs, and policies for compliance and risk mitigation.
  • Cultivates relationships to deliver value-added service and solutions to client management.
  • Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues through thorough investigations.
  • Maintains knowledge of legal requirements to reduce risks and ensure compliance.
  • Delivers performance management guidance, including conflict resolution and career development.
  • Improves work relationships and enhances teamwork to advance employee retention.
  • Delivers HR policy guidance and best practice recommendations.
  • Provides input on organizational structure and workforce planning.
  • Identifies training needs for client management to meet training objectives.
  • Engages with client management to understand evolving organizational strategy and goals.
  • Documents all client interactions in management systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Two to five years of related Human Resources experience.
  • Professional or Senior Professional in Human Resources (PHR, SPHR) and/or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) certification preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of HR best practices, especially in employee relations and relevant laws.
  • Strong customer service experience in a team environment.
  • Strong business acumen and negotiation skills.
  • Adaptive, resilient, and able to influence positive outcomes.
  • Strong time management, detail-orientation, and organizational skills.
  • Project management skills and experience managing multiple projects.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with all organizational levels.
  • Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and ability to learn other applications.
