About the position

The Human Resource Specialist at Henkels & McCoy West is responsible for facilitating new hire orientations, training employees, and ensuring compliance with HR regulations. This role supports the company's mission to build sustainable infrastructure while fostering an inclusive and empowering work environment.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate new hire orientation for craft and non-craft personnel.
• Assist in developing and distributing materials for hiring craft employees.
• Responsible for the training of craft and staff employees.
• Perform background checks for new hires.
• Order and maintain an inventory of new hire orientation materials.
• Handle administrative tasks including employee updates and personnel records filing.
• Ensure compliance with customer and union contract terms and conditions.
• Responsible for I-9 documentation and other HR records.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business, or equivalent experience.
• 2 years of progressive experience in Human resources or a business-related field.
• Proficient in software programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and HRIS.
• Knowledge of employment law and strong organizational skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and ensure the security of sensitive employee information.
• Ability to lift at least 20 lbs.
