About the position

The Bilingual HR Specialist at Rise & Shine Social Enterprise is responsible for enhancing the employee and candidate experience within the human resources department. This role involves supporting various administrative tasks and services that ensure the effective operation of HR functions, particularly in a bilingual capacity to serve a diverse workforce.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
  • Supports full cycle recruitment activities including screening, scheduling, interviewing, and onboarding new employees.
  • Completes onboarding paperwork, assists applicants in filling out applications, and assists with background checks.
  • Partners with HR personnel to support walk-in applicants interested in learning more about employment opportunities.
  • Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees regarding standard policies, benefits, and hiring processes; refers complex questions to senior-level HR staff or management.
  • Supports investigative needs of the human resources department, addressing personnel concerns that require HR team attention.
  • Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
  • Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
  • Provides clerical support to the HR department.
  • Conducts or assists with new hire orientation.
  • Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bilingual in both English and Spanish.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll management, human resource information system (HRIS), and similar computer applications.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must pass Oregon criminal background screening.
