The Human Resource Specialist at Goodwill Central Coast is a pivotal role focused on enhancing the employee experience and fostering a positive workplace culture. This position involves collaborating with a team of HR professionals to manage various HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and compliance with employment laws. The ideal candidate will be passionate about creating meaningful experiences for employees and will play a key role in supporting the organization's mission to build lives and communities through employment opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Represent HR and act as a key contact for various HR matters.
  • Manage recruiting and onboarding processes.
  • Oversee safety and talent management initiatives.
  • Guide management and staff with employee relations and performance management.
  • Administer HRIS system (Paycom), including reporting and audits.
  • Assist with publishing and administering personnel policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 3 years of experience in Human Resources preferred.
  • Bilingual, Spanish-speaking preferred.
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resources disciplines, including compensation, benefits, and HRIS (Paycom).
  • Knowledgeable of state and federal employment laws.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with advanced knowledge preferred.
  • Experience within a large, complex organization is preferred.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
