About the position

The Human Resources Support Specialist at Residential Transitions, Inc. plays a crucial role in assisting the management of the HR department under the supervision of the Director of Human Resources. This position involves providing comprehensive administrative support to ensure the smooth functioning of HR operations, contributing to the overall effectiveness of the department. The specialist will work closely with individuals integrated into the community, helping to improve their quality of life through empowerment and support.

Responsibilities

  • Introduce company culture, values, and mission to new employees and provide training and resources for new hires.
  • Input employee records, manage background checks, and assist with paperwork (W4s, I-9).
  • Review company policies and support benefits enrollment.
  • Gather feedback to enhance the onboarding experience.
  • Manage schedules, coordinate meetings, and maintain HR databases.
  • Provide excellent service to internal and external customers.
  • Update employee records and generate reports.
  • Oversee performance evaluation processes and communication.
  • Ensure adherence to HR policies and relevant employment laws.
  • Stay updated on state and federal regulations (FMLA, COBRA).
  • Process status changes, benefit enrollments, and exit interviews.
  • Assist with HR audits, policy reviews, and process improvements.
  • Participate in recruitment efforts, including posting jobs and conducting screenings.
  • Handle other HR duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • One year of HR experience including onboarding experience.
  • Minimum of 1 year of Human Resources experience working with entry-level teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • 1 year or more of experience in a Human Resources role at a social service agency.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related social service field.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a management role in a social service or health care setting overseeing entry-level employees.
