The Washington County Department of Human Resources is seeking an Administrative Specialist II to join our team in Hillsboro, OR. This full-time position is pivotal in providing high-level customer service to both employees and community members. The role is stationed at the front desk of the department, where the specialist will be responsible for welcoming new employees and supporting the onboarding process. This includes conducting I-9 verifications, utilizing the USCIS's E-Verify platform to confirm employment authorization, and managing the printing and provisioning of employee ID cards. The specialist will also create and maintain personnel files, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations regarding document retention. In addition to onboarding duties, the Administrative Specialist II will partner with the Front Office Team to conduct periodic audits, manage office supply inventory, and provide ad hoc administrative support to the HR leadership team. This support may involve preparing slide decks, scheduling meetings, and developing agendas. The specialist will also handle incoming calls and voicemails, coordinate with supervisors to ensure timely completion of new hire paperwork, and collaborate with the benefits and leaves team to administer transit passes and other benefits for new hires. The ideal candidate will be collaborative, team-oriented, and comfortable with multitasking in a dynamic environment. They should possess strong attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to build effective relationships with diverse stakeholders.
