About the position

The Human Resources Administrative Support Specialist plays a crucial role in providing high-quality customer service to staff and faculty while facilitating the coordination and administration of various human resources initiatives. This position supports HR functions such as talent acquisition, employee engagement, and learning and development, ensuring a smooth onboarding experience and maintaining confidential HR records.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to various HR functions including talent acquisition and employee engagement.
  • Coordinate meetings and events, communicating with customers and providing administrative support.
  • Deliver customer service to internal and external customers by answering phones and responding to inquiries.
  • Complete projects that may require research and presentation of findings.
  • Assist in tracking and implementation of HR projects.
  • Support the hiring process for staff and faculty vacancies, including job postings and background checks.
  • Participate in the new hire process, ensuring a consistent onboarding experience.
  • Maintain highly confidential records, including vendor contracts and agreements.
  • Process, scan, file, and store HR information and documents.
  • Assist in delivering HR-sponsored recognition events and ceremonies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • At least one year of relevant work experience in human resources, customer service, or administration; three or more years preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel at an intermediate level.
  • Experience with HRIS or learning management platforms.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a higher education environment.
  • Knowledge of HR metrics and reporting.
