About the position

The Human Resource Administrator at Mears Group will oversee the daily operations of the HR department, focusing on hiring, employee onboarding, compliance with regulations, and policy enforcement. This role is essential in supporting HR initiatives and ensuring a smooth hiring process while maintaining employee records and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Onboard new employees
  • Update and maintain employee records and data
  • Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment
  • Process and maintain E-Verify and I-9 documentation
  • Process background checks
  • Assist employees in the interpretation and administration of policies and procedures
  • Facilitate the interviewing and hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborate with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • 2 years of experience as an HR Administrator
  • Knowledge of personal computers, proficient in Microsoft Office, MS Word, and Excel
  • Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail
  • Ability to manage time effectively to complete tasks and meet deadlines
  • Ability to handle and keep extremely sensitive information confidential
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to diverse groups of people and people on all levels
