About the position

Responsible, professional Human Resources work serving as an HR Business Partner to three assigned county departments. This position is part of the Civil Service Confidential Union Contract represented by the Confidential Public Employees Association. An employee in this class is responsible for providing professional human resources work in an assigned program area. Duties include advising staff on county policies and procedures, Civil Service rules and laws, and collective bargaining agreement provisions, recruitment and assessment, benefits, classification and compensation, reasonable accommodations, performance management, business systems and records maintenance, and training and development. The work is performed under the direction of assigned supervisory staff.

Responsibilities

• Advise staff on county policies and procedures.
• Interpret Civil Service rules and laws.
• Manage collective bargaining agreement provisions.
• Conduct recruitment and assessment.
• Oversee benefits, classification, and compensation.
• Facilitate reasonable accommodations.
• Support performance management processes.
• Maintain business systems and records.
• Coordinate training and development programs.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in business administration, human resources, management, public administration, or closely related field.
• For Human Resources Advisor: One (1) year full-time paid verifiable professional human resources experience.
• For Human Resources Senior Advisor: Four (4) years full-time paid verifiable professional human resources experience.
• Possession of a valid driver's license.
