About the position

The Human Resources Analyst 12, Specialist 13-Labor Relations position at the Michigan Civil Service Commission involves performing a comprehensive range of labor relations activities for the Department of Technology, Management and Budget. The role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to interpret and apply various policies and collective bargaining agreements. Ideal candidates will possess excellent communication skills and a solid understanding of labor relations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a full range of labor relations activities.
  • Investigate, analyze, interpret, and apply policies, rules, regulations, and collective bargaining agreements.
  • Communicate effectively both in writing and verbally with various stakeholders.
  • Support the Department of Technology, Management and Budget in HR-related functions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in any major or equivalent experience in the state classified service.
  • Experience in human resources or labor relations is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience conducting investigations related to labor relations.
  • Familiarity with collective bargaining agreements and grievance processing.
