About the position

The Human Resources Analyst (Field Support) position at Red Onion State Prison involves providing quality professional Human Resource Services to employees at an adult correctional center. The role includes interpreting policies and procedures, offering guidance on benefits, leave, FLSA, payroll, human resource transactions, FMLA, workers' compensation, and other HR functions. The analyst will resolve issues between Human Resources and Payroll, the Department of Human Resource Management (DHRM), Budget, and the Department of Accounts (DOA). Additionally, the position encourages and promotes a healing environment by modeling the way and utilizing creative means to improve customer service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional Human Resource Services to employees at the correctional center.
  • Interpret policies and procedures related to human resources.
  • Guide employees on benefits, leave, FLSA, payroll, and other HR functions.
  • Resolve issues between Human Resources and Payroll, DHRM, Budget, and DOA.
  • Promote a healing environment and improve customer service delivery.

Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Experience working with Cardinal in entering and compiling data.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Working knowledge of generalist human resource functions including leave administration, complex payroll transactions, employee benefits, and workers compensation.
  • Knowledge of Federal and State laws, policies, and procedures related to human resources.
  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and apply human resource policies and procedures.
  • Effective communication skills, both orally and in writing.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced knowledge, coursework, training, or certification in Human Resources or a related field.
  • Professional Human Resources certificate.
  • Knowledge of Department of Corrections (DOC) policies and procedures.
