About the position

The Human Resources Analyst/Workers' Compensation Coordinator is responsible for overseeing professional-level Human Resources Administration, focusing on risk management and workers' compensation. This role involves conducting risk and loss analysis, developing safety policies, providing safety training, and managing workers' compensation claims. The coordinator acts as a liaison between various stakeholders to ensure compliance with safety standards and effective claims management.

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced risk and loss analysis.
  • Develop and maintain environmental, health, and safety policies and programs.
  • Promote and provide safety expertise and training materials to employees.
  • Provide recommendations for risk management and cost control mechanisms.
  • Serve as the primary contact for workers' compensation claims and issues.
  • Review accident reports and recommend corrective actions.
  • Interview employees and supervisors to gather information on safety issues.
  • Prepare and maintain required reports, statistics, and records.
  • Coordinate with 3rd Party Administrators for claims management.
  • Assist departments in finding appropriate light duty and transitional work.
  • Act as a liaison between 3rd Party Administrators and department supervisors for WC issues.
  • Work with WC Counsel on settling claims and regulations.
  • Schedule employees for the random drug and alcohol program.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources management, Safety/Risk Management, Workers' Compensation Claims management, or a related field.
  • Three years of experience in processing workers' comp claims and experience in risk management/safety programs, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • SHRM-CP and/or ARM designations preferred.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Knowledge of computer-based applications.
  • Ability to interpret and explain policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Federal and State labor laws.
  • Knowledge of loss prevention principles, accident prevention principles, claims management, and workers' compensation liability issues.
  • Excellent customer service skills and effective communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with safety training programs.
  • Familiarity with environmental health and safety regulations.
