About the position

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Human Resources and Finance Specialist to join our team. This part-time role is pivotal in managing various HR and internal finance functions while ensuring compliance with employment labor laws. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality. This position supports employee development and fosters a positive workplace culture.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the employee orientation process, ensuring new hires are effectively integrated into the company culture.
  • Utilize electronic systems for data entry and management of employee records.
  • Assist in talent management initiatives, including recruitment, onboarding, and performance evaluations.
  • Stay informed about employment labor laws to ensure compliance in all HR practices.
  • Address employee concerns and conflicts through effective conflict management strategies.
  • Keep accurate records of reimbursement and requisitions, and assist the Operations team with donations receipts and inventory.
  • Assist the Controller and Director of Operations in managing Accounts Payable.
  • Maintain accurate records of contracts and other employment documentation.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in Human Resources or related field is preferred.
  • Strong capabilities in Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of employment labor law and best practices in HR management.
  • Strong data entry skills with attention to detail.
  • Experience in conflict management and resolution within a workplace setting.
  • Previous involvement in employee orientation or talent management processes is a plus.
