About the position

The Human Resources and Payroll Generalist plays a crucial role in the Human Resources Department by contributing to various aspects of employee management and fostering a positive work environment. This position involves collaborating with department managers to handle a wide range of HR responsibilities, ensuring compliance with company policies, labor laws, and industry trends.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes, works, and acts in a manner consistent with the mission of Anduzzi's Sports Club and Waverly Beach.
  • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions, working with department managers to understand skills and competencies needed.
  • Processes bi-weekly payroll timely, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations for both exempt and non-exempt employees.
  • Reviews timesheets, computes wages, reconciles wages, overtime, and other types of applicable pay.
  • Posts, updates, and reconciles all employee-related deductions (garnishments, tax levies, child support orders, benefits, etc.).
  • Maintains employee records within the HRIS.
  • Generates official internal documents such as offer letters, resignations/terminations, employee change forms, and forms related to payroll.
  • Implements and executes new hire onboarding to include employee eligibility verifications, benefits administration, and employee recognition programs.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors to assist with complex and/or sensitive matters.
  • Develops, maintains, and communicates data analytics for the Human Resources Department.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Provides recommendations for best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field is preferred.
  • One (1) to two (2) years of Human Resources experience preferred.
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and talent management systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule (Monday- Friday) at any of the store locations between Green Bay and Menasha markets.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies within Human Resources, talent management, and employment law.
