About the position

The Human Resources and Payroll Generalist plays a crucial role in supporting the HR and payroll functions of CenterState CEO and its affiliates. This position is responsible for various HR administrative tasks, maintaining the HRIS system, managing biweekly payroll, and ensuring compliance with HR regulations. The role requires attention to detail and effective communication skills to handle employee inquiries and support the onboarding process.

Responsibilities

  • Organize and maintain employee file storage system
  • Maintain day to day HR compliance and tasks
  • Order and maintain employment law posters and board
  • Process and update bi-weekly payroll allocations for ledger posting
  • Ensure accurate recording of paid time off for all employees
  • Liaison with payroll provider for effective payroll module utilization
  • Submit bi-weekly 401K census
  • Prepare documents for worker's compensation and insurance audits
  • Handle onboarding and offboarding documentation and payroll benefits
  • Conduct year-end W2 verifications and 1099 preparation and submissions
  • Respond to employee payroll questions
  • Post and maintain job postings
  • Review resumes and screen candidates
  • Schedule interviews and manage the recruiting workflow
  • Launch and monitor new hire onboarding process
  • Coordinate with departments for new hire needs
  • Schedule and conduct new hire orientation
  • Maintain and update employee resources and SharePoint documents
  • Launch events, sign-offs, and trainings in Paylocity
  • Update and maintain Paylocity records
  • Run reports and gather data
  • Assist HR director with projects and trainings
  • Submit and manage employee leaves/disability claims

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of experience in an HR or Payroll role
  • Experience with HR software (e.g., HRIS systems like Workday, ADP, or Paylocity)
  • Familiarity with HR/Payroll best practices and employment law
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Proficiency with Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and other necessary software
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Flexibility in work approach

Nice-to-haves

  • Associate or bachelor's degree preferred but not required
