About the position

The Human Resources and Payroll Specialist at Hermosa Inn is responsible for managing payroll processing and benefits administration for the resort's team members. This role requires a strong background in human resources, particularly in recruitment, onboarding, and employee engagement, while also ensuring compliance with payroll regulations and managing employee benefits effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Process payroll for team members, preferably using ADP Workforce Now.
  • Administer benefits including medical and dental enrollments, cancellations, and payroll deductions.
  • Coordinate annual open enrollment meetings with benefits broker and insurance representatives.
  • Manage recruitment processes including screening and onboarding of new hires.
  • Organize team member recognition programs and events to foster a positive workplace culture.
  • Advocate for team members and promote an inclusive work environment.
  • Handle workers' compensation insurance claims and unemployment benefit claims for former employees.
  • Create ad-hoc Excel reports for wage, administration, and labor reporting.

Requirements

  • 3 years of leadership experience in a relevant field.
  • Experience in payroll processing, preferably in a hotel or restaurant environment.
  • Familiarity with ADP Workforce Now for payroll processing.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel for reporting purposes.
  • Experience in major aspects of human resources including recruitment and onboarding.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience managing job seeking databases such as Indeed or CareerBuilder.
  • Previous experience in handling workers' compensation claims.
  • Experience in processing unemployment benefit claims.
