About the position

The Talent Acquisition Intern will be an integral part of the Human Resources Department, providing support through a variety of clerical and administrative duties. Under the guidance of the Lead Talent Acquisition and Development Specialist, the intern will gain hands-on experience in the field of human resources, particularly in talent acquisition. This internship is designed to help the intern learn about the full cycle of recruiting, which includes sourcing, screening, interviewing, and onboarding new employees. Additionally, the intern will have the opportunity to engage in employee engagement and retention initiatives, which are crucial for maintaining a positive workplace culture. The intern will also participate in various events organized by Wedgwood, including the Events and Recognition Committee, where they will help manage and promote employee recognition programs. Another key responsibility will be assisting with the Mindful Moment program, which focuses on promoting mental well-being among employees. The intern will learn about employee development initiatives and how to operate the applicant tracking system, which is essential for managing recruitment processes efficiently. Moreover, the intern will be involved in projects related to employee file management, ensuring compliance with licensing standards and agency policies. This includes completing a filing auditing project to maintain proper file management and attending HR team meetings and campus events to stay engaged with the department's activities. Overall, this internship offers a comprehensive introduction to the field of human resources, providing valuable experience and skills that will benefit the intern's future career in HR.

Responsibilities

  • Learn a variety of general administrative functions in support of members of the Human Resources Department.
  • Learn and assist with full cycle recruiting process including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and onboarding.
  • Learn employee engagement and retention initiatives.
  • Participate in Wedgwood Events and Recognition Committee.
  • Help management Mindful Moment program.
  • Learn employee development initiatives.
  • Learn to operate applicant tracking system.
  • Learn basic steps of employee investigation and accountability process.
  • Participate in career fairs and other recruiting events as needed.
  • Learn and assist in projects regarding employee file management:
  • Complete filing auditing project to ensure proper file management.
  • Ensure personnel file compliance in accordance with licensing standards, agency policy and all other applicable standards, rules, regulations, etc. through established procedures.
  • Attendance at Wedgwood Campus Events.
  • Attendance at HR Team Meeting.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must be very detailed, organized, and possess the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Subscription to the Statement of Faith of Wedgwood Christian Services, and agreement with the goal, purpose, and objectives of the agency.
