About the position

The Human Resources Assistant II at UTHealth Houston focuses on onboarding residents and faculty, providing essential administrative and technical support within the Employee Services team. This role operates in a hybrid work environment, with flexibility depending on project demands, particularly during peak times of the year. The position is located in the University Center Tower at the Texas Medical Center, contributing to the institution's mission of healthcare education and excellence in patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Provides daily technical support to clients and/or departmental staff members in assigned areas of human resources.
  • Researches, compiles, and analyzes data for various projects and reports, making recommendations to the supervisor on Human Resources issues.
  • Processes and/or explains forms to employees and applicants.
  • Provides support to hiring managers, candidates, organizational staff, and HR colleagues in areas such as HR information systems, candidate recruitment/screening, employment processing, compensation administration, training administration, employee relations, and equal opportunity.
  • Researches and answers routine to moderately complex questions or issues in compliance with UT-Houston's policies.
  • Prepares procedures for assigned tasks.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or its equivalent.
  • At least one year of office or administrative experience required.
  • Experience performing onboarding tasks for residents and faculty in a university setting is preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a healthcare or educational institution.
  • Familiarity with HR information systems and applicant tracking systems.
