About the position

The Human Resources Assistant II at UTHealth Houston focuses on onboarding residents and faculty, providing essential administrative and technical support within the Employee Services team. This role operates in a hybrid work environment, adapting to project demands, particularly during peak onboarding periods. The position is integral to the university's mission of healthcare education and patient care excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Provides daily technical support to clients and departmental staff in assigned areas of human resources.
  • Researches, compiles, and analyzes data for various projects and reports, making recommendations to supervisors on HR issues.
  • Processes and explains forms to employees and applicants.
  • Supports hiring managers, candidates, and HR colleagues in areas such as HR information systems, candidate recruitment, employment processing, and employee relations.
  • Researches and answers routine to moderately complex questions in compliance with UT-Houston's policies.
  • Prepares procedures for assigned tasks.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • At least one year of office or administrative experience required.
  • Mid-level administrative experience preferred.
  • Experience with onboarding tasks for residents and faculty in a university setting is preferred.
