About the position

The Human Resources Assistant will support daily HR functions in a part-time capacity, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures while providing administrative support to the HR department. This role requires working onsite in an office environment and involves various HR-related tasks to facilitate smooth operations within the team.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with day-to-day HR operations, including employee onboarding, maintaining personnel files, and managing HR documents.
  • Support benefits administration, talent management, and performance management processes.
  • Assist with workers' compensation reporting and compliance-related documentation.
  • Maintain and update employee records in compliance with HR regulations and company policies.
  • Handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Provide administrative support, such as preparing documents, reports, and presentations using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Respond to internal HR inquiries, ensuring clear and timely communication.
  • Collaborate with the HR team to ensure smooth operation of all HR functions.
  • Assist in the recruitment process by posting job openings, screening resumes, and scheduling interviews.
  • Facilitate employee orientation programs to ensure new hires are effectively onboarded.
  • Support performance management processes by coordinating evaluations and tracking employee progress.
  • Collaborate with management on change management initiatives to foster a positive work environment.
  • Provide administrative support for HR-related projects, including documentation of contracts and agreements.
  • Perform other HR-related tasks and projects as trained and assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in an HR role or internship is a plus.
  • Knowledge of HR practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Familiarity with payroll system Paylocity is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of workers' compensation, talent management, benefits administration, performance management, and OSHA regulations is a plus.
  • Proficiency in data entry with a strong attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of performance management systems and best practices.
  • Experience with project management principles related to HR initiatives.
  • Understanding of OSHA regulations and workplace safety protocols.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with employees at all levels.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
