About the position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Human Resources Assistant to support various HR functions in our growing company. This role involves recruitment, payroll, benefits administration, training coordination, and ensuring compliance with HR policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills and a passion for fostering a positive workplace culture.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the recruitment process by posting job openings, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and participating in interviews.
  • Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, including preparing orientation materials and conducting orientation sessions.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for visitors and callers, providing general information about the company.
  • Support payroll processing by entering new hire information and reviewing timecard records for discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR databases, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with regulations.
  • Assist employees with benefits inquiries and ensure timely processing of benefit changes and enrollments.
  • Help coordinate training programs and maintain accurate training records.
  • Support the implementation of HR policies and procedures and ensure compliance with labor laws.
  • Provide support in addressing employee concerns and inquiries to promote a positive work environment.
  • Assist in the preparation of HR reports and metrics for management review.
  • Coordinate employee engagement activities and events.
  • Assist in maintaining workplace safety programs and compliance.
  • Provide access badges, market cards, and uniforms to employees, maintaining accurate records.
  • Perform general administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and preparing correspondence.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in HR or administrative support, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Time management skills to prioritize and manage deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with HR software and databases is a plus.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and a team-oriented mindset.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of employment labor law and OSHA regulations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with HR software such as Taleo, Paylocity, or iCIMS is a plus.
  • Excellent data entry skills with attention to detail.
