About the position

The HR Benefits Administrative Assistant at 61st Street Service Corporation plays a crucial role in supporting the Benefits Department by providing administrative assistance and ensuring the smooth operation of office activities. This position involves processing benefits-related data, assisting employees with inquiries, and collaborating with team members to enhance operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Process and monitor terminations of all benefits selections.
  • Reconcile weekly UHC/Surest Funding invoices.
  • Upload benefits terminations data.
  • Conduct new hire orientation and collect beneficiary enrollments bi-weekly.
  • Perform quality checks of benefits-related data.
  • Assist employees with benefits claim issues and plan changes.
  • Respond to benefits inquiries from employees regarding plan provisions and status changes.
  • Process 401(k) entries for employer contributions and employee deferrals and loans.
  • Backup for bi-weekly 401k total controls submissions in the plan sponsor website.
  • Manage phone calls with professionalism and excellent phone etiquette.
  • Collaborate with team members to improve operational efficiency and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Assist the Benefits Administrator with the annual Flu shot campaign and wellness programs.
  • Assist with special projects as requested by management.
  • Manage the Administrator's calendars and organize meetings as needed.
  • Draft and prepare correspondence, presentations, reports, and other documents as necessary.
  • Assist in coordinating office events and creating announcement memos.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma; some college preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of administrative office experience.
  • Prior experience working in a professional office environment is a must.
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft applications.
