About the position

The Human Resources Benefits Specialist is responsible for managing and administering the employee benefits program for Central Counties Services. This senior-level position involves coordinating various HR functions, including recruitment, compensation, employee relations, and benefits administration, while working under limited supervision. The role requires a strong understanding of HR principles and practices, as well as the ability to analyze data and make informed recommendations.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare correspondence and reports related to HR data.
  • Assist in compiling and analyzing HR data; prepare reports of findings and recommendations.
  • Maintain accurate HRIS employee and benefit-related information.
  • Monitor, prepare, and process benefits changes as required.
  • Conduct new employee orientations to ensure understanding of benefits.
  • Counsel employees on plan provisions to facilitate informed decisions.
  • Coordinate daily benefits processing, including enrollments and terminations.
  • Analyze current benefits and evaluate effectiveness, cost, and trends.
  • Administer FMLA for Center employees in coordination with Absence Pro.
  • Review benefits and reconcile to payroll on a biweekly basis.

Requirements

  • Experience in human resources management work, preferably in benefits administration.
  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in human resources management, business or public administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Two years' experience working in a Human Resources Information System preferred.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of human resources management.
  • Skill in oral and written communication, problem-solving, and using HR-related software applications.
