About the position

The Human Resources Business Analyst - III position at The Judge Group Inc. in Bridgewater, New Jersey, is a critical role focused on managing new project development for enhancements to Compensation and Core HR systems. This position involves leading client teams to define business requirements and creating comprehensive documentation that outlines technically feasible and user-friendly solutions that meet the needs of the business. The analyst will need to understand various areas of the system and coordinate components to leverage appropriate functionality for new projects. In this role, the analyst will be responsible for asking pertinent questions to ensure that business requirements can be easily translated into technical specifications. They will define ideas and recommend solutions to problems related to project design, managing the client team to obtain appropriate sign-off on final requirements. The analyst will also project manage other areas of HRIS, including security, reporting, workspaces, change management, and production support, ensuring that projects are addressed from end to end and that the needs and interests of the business are met. Additionally, the analyst will perform reviews of documented requirements with IT management or vendor solutions and development staff to ensure a complete understanding of business goals. They will lead the client and production support teams in developing testing plans, test scripts, and timelines, guiding the client team through the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) process and reporting on testing progress and overall project status. The analyst will partner with the change management team to ensure that documentation for training guides and supporting materials is received, developing a training plan and schedule that aligns with the project timeline. Finally, they will manage production validation and post-production activities, identifying and logging defects during the warranty period and working with IT to identify root causes and retest fixes.

Responsibilities

  • Manage new project development for enhancements to Compensation and Core HR systems on large to very large size projects.
  • Lead the client teams to define the business requirements and build a comprehensive document that outlines a technically feasible, user-friendly solution that fully meets the needs and requests of the business.
  • Understand other areas of the system and coordinate components so that appropriate functionality can be leveraged and applied to new projects.
  • Ask appropriate questions to ensure the business requirement can be easily translated into a technical specification.
  • Define ideas and recommend a solution to problems related to project design.
  • Manage the client team to obtain appropriate sign-off on final requirements.
  • Project manage other areas of HRIS such as security, reporting, workspaces, change management, and production support to ensure the project is addressed from end to end and the needs and interests of the business are met.
  • Perform review of documented requirements with IT management or vendor solutions and development staff to ensure a complete understanding of the business goals.
  • Project manage IT or vendor solutions to develop project milestones and timelines for development, SIT, UAT, production validation, and go live.
  • Lead the client and production support to develop a testing plan, test scripts, and timeline.
  • Lead the client team through the UAT process, reporting on testing progress, status for UAT completion, and overall project status.
  • Partner with the change management team to ensure documentation for training guides and supporting materials are received and to develop a training plan and schedule that supports the project timeline.
  • Manage production validation ensuring that the project team is involved as necessary and that the project is moved into the production environment as scheduled and without issues.
  • Manage post-production to identify and log defects during the warranty period or several weeks post go live and work with IT to identify root cause and retest fixes.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of HR processes, policies, and data.
  • Strong understanding of PeopleSoft database design, table structure, functions, and processes.
  • Advanced SQL knowledge.
  • Effective project management skills and previous exposure to large scale system-related projects.
  • The ability to listen and understand client objectives and concerns and formulate a system solution to resolve the issues.
  • The ability to use logic and reasoning to identify feasible alternative solutions, and propose recommended solutions to complex issues.
  • The ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce a solution that will work effectively in an enterprise solution.
  • Effective organizational and interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, and PM applications such as JIRA.
