About the position

The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) with an Employee Relations focus is a strategic role that provides expert support in employee relations to both hourly workers and their leaders within the Field Operations organization. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of labor laws and employee relations best practices, enabling the HRBP to navigate complex situations effectively. The role involves aligning HR strategies with business goals while ensuring compliance and fostering a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, disciplinary action, and performance management.
  • Conduct thorough investigations into employee complaints, grievances, and allegations, ensuring timely resolution and adherence to company policies and legal requirements.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to managers on addressing employee performance, behavior, and attendance issues.
  • Develop and deliver training programs for managers on effective employee relations practices, conflict resolution, and performance management.
  • Support leave management processes, including ADA interactive processes and collaboration with the Total Rewards team and Worker's Compensation.
  • Stay current on federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations, ensuring company policies are compliant.
  • Advise management on legal implications of employee relations issues and recommend actions to mitigate risks.
  • Collaborate with other HR functions to ensure a holistic approach to employee management.
  • Work closely with general managers to understand their business needs and provide tailored HR support.
  • Drive a safety-focused culture and foster a positive, solution-focused work environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of HR experience with a strong focus on employee relations.
  • Experience supporting both hourly and managerial staff in a multi-site environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of labor laws, employment regulations, and employee relations best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work in both an office environment and in depot (warehouse) locations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field (highly preferred).
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred.
