About The Position

The Human Resources Business Partner/Generalist at Loyola University Maryland will play a pivotal role in providing both operational and strategic HR support to faculty, staff, and administrators within assigned business units. This position will work closely with the Director of Employee Relations & Organizational Development to develop, implement, and evaluate HR policies, procedures, and programs that pertain to employment, employee relations, and professional development. The HR Partner will manage the recruitment and employment process, conduct employee relations investigations, oversee job classification, facilitate orientation, and address general HR inquiries for the designated business units. Additionally, the role will ensure that HR professional development opportunities and statutory training are executed based on identified needs and compliance requirements for the assigned units. The essential functions of this role include serving as the primary HR contact for the assigned business groups, handling all HR-related matters such as recruitment, onboarding, performance management, leadership development, conflict management, policy implementation, compliance, employee engagement, unemployment, offboarding, and employee relations. The ideal candidate will possess a professional demeanor and the ability to build strong relationships by regularly collaborating with line managers and department VPs to ensure that HR services meet or exceed expectations. The HR Partner will also assist in creating an exceptional HR service organization that aligns with the University’s strategic goals and will partner with internal HR team members and HR Directors to translate business strategies into actionable HR initiatives that drive results for the University.
