About the position

The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) I and II positions are integral roles within the San Antonio Water System, focusing on employee relations and aligning human resources functions with the strategic objectives of various business segments. The HRBP I is primarily responsible for identifying and fulfilling the human resources needs of the organization, providing a comprehensive range of HR services that include compliance, Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) initiatives, employee relations, performance management, and recruitment. This role serves as the primary interface with management across different business units, offering guidance, interpretation, and consultation to ensure that HR practices align with organizational goals. In contrast, the HRBP II position takes on a more strategic role, acting as a partner to align business objectives with the needs of employees and management within designated business units. This role also encompasses a full range of HR services similar to the HRBP I, but with an added emphasis on formulating partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added services. The HRBP II is expected to maintain a high level of business literacy about the various business units and is responsible for overseeing the entire recruitment cycle, employing both traditional and innovative sourcing strategies to ensure successful hiring outcomes.
