About the position

The Human Resources Classification Specialist plays a crucial role in conducting comprehensive position audits, developing job descriptions, and providing advisory services related to position classification and organizational structure. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with classification standards and equity objectives while leading special HR projects to enhance workflows and optimize compensation processes.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive position audits with employees and supervisors.
  • Apply classification standards to evaluate positions and prepare detailed reports of findings.
  • Present classification findings and recommendations to program managers.
  • Collaborate with managers to develop and revise position descriptions, including career ladder positions.
  • Ensure all descriptions align with organizational goals and classification standards.
  • Provide advisory services related to position classification and organizational structure.
  • Recommend staffing patterns, functional statements, and organizational improvements.
  • Participate in classification and compensation studies.
  • Leverage internal and external data to make informed recommendations for position classification and pay equity.
  • Lead special HR projects that enhance classification workflows and optimize compensation-related processes.
  • Ensure classification decisions align with equity objectives, including reviewing positions for pay disparities and internal equity concerns.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prior experience in position classification or HR consulting is preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook) with advanced Excel skills preferred.
  • Experience with the UKG Pro HRIS is highly preferred.

Benefits
