About the position

The Human Resources Consultant A/B/C/Specialist position at State Civil Service is designed to provide strategic workforce solutions and support to various state agencies. The role involves facilitating and directing agency leadership in areas such as recruitment, classification, and employee relations, ensuring compliance with State Civil Service rules and procedures. The position aims to attract, develop, and retain a diverse and engaged workforce that delivers quality services to the citizens of Louisiana.

Responsibilities

• Provide consultation to state agencies on State Civil Service rules, guidelines, and procedures.
• Create all requests and job postings for selected state agencies.
• Evaluate applicant qualifications for classified jobs.
• Assist in reviewing positions to determine appropriateness of allocations and equity of pay grade assignments.
• Process personnel actions for selected state agencies in a statewide personnel database and audit records for accuracy.

Requirements

• A baccalaureate degree or equivalent work experience (six years of full-time work experience can substitute for the degree).
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and tasks.
• Competency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is preferred.
• Strong analytical skills to synthesize information and make accurate judgments with minimal supervision.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in human resources or related fields.
• Demonstrated competency in using Microsoft Office Suite.
