About the position

The Human Resources Coordinator role is a temporary, contract position based in Swedesboro, NJ, focused on providing comprehensive HR support to a Distribution Center. The position requires a bilingual (Spanish) candidate who will assist with employee relations, staffing management, payroll support, and compliance with federal and state laws. This role is designed to last for three months, with the potential for hire thereafter.

Responsibilities

  • Process various time-sensitive data entry, uploads, exports, and transactional requests from HR, the business, and associates related to status changes in the HRIS and all applicable systems.
  • Prepare new hire orientation material and maintain data entry for new hires as well as conduct new hire orientation and onboarding.
  • Manage, track, and ensure compliance on all associate information and documentation as dictated by governing policies, including new hire required documentation, associate performance reviews, progressive discipline, and terminations.
  • Support the Distribution Centers with the planning, communicating, and tracking of company-wide initiatives, events, and objectives throughout the year as well as daily associate inquiries.
  • Advise and assist Managers and Supervisors on interpretation and administration of HR policies and procedures.
  • Act as a liaison between Distribution Center associates and Corporate Benefits department to support and resolve benefits inquiries.
  • Coordinate FMLA, LOA, Workers Comp claims and submit paperwork to corporate/vendor.
  • Handle and support additional projects as needed.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Background & understanding of basic Human Resources principles.
  • 1 year of HR experience, preferably in a Distribution Center environment.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ability to work independently as well as with a team.
  • Ability to be cross-trained and serve as backup resource to other coordinators in the department.
  • Proactive work ethic; does not need to be micro-managed.
