About the position

The Human Resources Coordinator at the Maryland Coalition of Families (MCF) plays a crucial role in supporting the operational HR functions of the organization. This position focuses on recruiting, payroll, benefits administration, and compliance, while fostering a culture of diversity and professional development. The role offers a hybrid work schedule, allowing for both remote and in-office work, and is based out of MCF's Central office in Columbia, MD.

Responsibilities

  • Support and enhance a culture that respects diversity and encourages professional development.
  • Establish positive working relationships with leaders and employees throughout MCF.
  • Maintain accurate human resource files, records, and documentation.
  • Perform periodic audits of HR records to ensure compliance.
  • Manage full-cycle recruitment including reviewing resumes and conducting interviews.
  • Prepare and disseminate weekly recruitment reports and job announcements.
  • Onboard new hires through HR and payroll management software.
  • Assist with open enrollment and benefits administration.
  • Process bi-weekly payroll and employee reimbursement requests.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and grant requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in HR or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of three years of hands-on HR experience in recruitment, benefits, payroll administration, and compliance.
  • Human Resources Certification preferred.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Strong employee relations skills and ability to interact effectively with staff at all levels.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience with applicant tracking, payroll, and learning management systems preferred.
