The HR Data Analyst at UAB Medicine plays a crucial role in supporting various Human Resources programs and initiatives that impact the organization. This position is integral to the HR operations, working with multiple systems, databases, and modules to collect, compile, and analyze HR data and metrics. The analyst will develop visualizations to present insights and recommendations to leadership, thereby influencing decision-making processes within the organization. UAB Medicine, recognized as Alabama's largest single-site employer, operates over 1,200 beds and more than 200 clinics, making this role vital in maintaining the efficiency and effectiveness of HR functions across a large and complex healthcare system. In this role, the HR Data Analyst will perform a variety of data analytic duties, including the collection, calculation, reporting, and analysis of HR metrics. Proficiency in HR information systems is essential, as the analyst will gather data for analysis and produce reports, dashboards, and presentations using tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SPSS, and Tableau. The position requires the development of methods for ongoing tracking of identified metrics, which may include turnover and retention rates, talent acquisition statistics, compensation analysis, performance management data, employee experience feedback, training and development metrics, workforce demographics, and benchmark comparisons. The analyst will interpret results from these analyses and provide advice to HR and organizational leaders, ensuring that data-driven decisions are made. Collaboration is key in this role, as the HR Data Analyst may work alongside systems analysts and serve as a backup administrator for various HR systems. This includes validating data integrity and managing data interfaces, as well as participating in job-related meetings and webinars to enhance system functionality. Additionally, the analyst may assist with employee-related survey efforts, providing support during all phases of survey administration and aiding in results analysis through routine reporting. The HR Data Analyst is also expected to support the functional operations of HR by attending staff meetings, completing mandatory training, and participating in HR functions that impact all staff.
