About the position

The Human Resources Data Analyst at the Port of Seattle is responsible for managing complex analytical HR projects using multi-dimensional datasets. This role involves utilizing analytics, data mining, and statistical modeling to provide visualizations of HR data through dashboards for various stakeholders. The analyst will work closely with business stakeholders to understand their data needs and create effective visualizations, while also managing the Human Resources Data Compass website and ensuring effective adoption of new business processes through training and support.

Responsibilities

  • Manage concurrent and complex analytical HR projects using multi-dimensional datasets.
  • Utilize analytics, data mining, and statistical modeling programs to provide visualizations of HR data.
  • Create clear and engaging visualizations from raw data using tools like Tableau.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders to understand project requirements and translate them into effective visualizations.
  • Gather and organize HR-related data, including employee demographics, performance metrics, compensation, and benefits.
  • Manage all aspects of the Human Resources Data Compass website, including posts, infographics, dashboards, and embedded content.
  • Create training materials and provide hands-on training sessions to ensure effective adoption of new business processes.
  • Evaluate existing HR business intelligence efforts and identify areas for enhancement.
  • Serve as a point of contact for HR data-related inquiries from internal stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Three (3) years of experience using data visualization tools, analysis, reporting, and/or building dashboards.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Intelligence, Data Science, or Computer Science is desired.
  • Knowledge of data visualization best practices and ability to transform data into actionable visualizations.
  • Knowledge of fundamental principles and practices of human resources administration and applicable Federal and State regulations.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Automate, PowerApps)
  • Genuine interest in uncovering insights from data and eagerness to learn about the latest Business Intelligence tools and techniques.
