About the position

As a Human Resources Director (HR) at Milwaukee Nursing and Rehab, you will play a crucial role in managing the organization's most valuable asset: its people. This position is pivotal in ensuring that the HR functions align with the overall business objectives and contribute to a positive workplace culture. You will be responsible for overseeing recruitment processes, managing employee relations, administering benefits, and ensuring compliance with legal regulations. Your efforts will directly impact the success of the organization by fostering a dynamic and inclusive work environment that prioritizes respect, compassion, and dignity for all employees and residents. In this role, you will facilitate and update the flow of applicants through the applicant tracking system, ensuring that the recruitment process is efficient and effective. You will also complete pre-employment and new hire process checklists for all new hires, ensuring that all necessary documentation and procedures are followed. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date online personnel files for both current and terminated employees will be a key responsibility, as will serving as the first point of contact for staff regarding benefit administration, payroll, and insurance inquiries. Additionally, you will be responsible for submitting missed punch details, PTO and LOA requests, and PAF administration to Corporate Payroll. You will coordinate the handling of all claims requests related to employment practices and unemployment, as well as manage the Worker's Compensation claim administration duties and the FMLA process. Your role will be integral in shaping a supportive and compliant workplace that values its employees and promotes their well-being.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate and update the flow of applicants from the applicant tracking system and distribute accordingly.
  • Complete pre-employment and new hire process checklists for all new hires.
  • Create and maintain all current and termed employee online personnel files.
  • Serve as the first point of contact with staff regarding benefit administration, payroll, and insurances.
  • Submit missed punch details, PTO & LOA requests, and PAF administration to Corporate Payroll.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 1-2 years' HR experience in a nursing home setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Outstanding organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal English.
